In her latest appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” Oscar winner Lady Gaga addressed rumors about a purported romance with co-star and director, Bradley Cooper, alongside whom she delivered riveting performance of the song, “Shallow,” at the 2019 Academy Awards. When asked by Jimmy Kimmel if she is really in love with Cooper, Gaga dramatically rolled her eyes and stated that “social media, quite frankly, is the toilet of the internet.” “People saw love, and guess what, that’s what we wanted you to see! It’s a love song, ‘Shallow,'” she continued, adding that each and every aspect of the live performance was directed by Bradley himself, including “the way that it was shot, the way that they pushed the piano out, you saw them put the piano together and us walk up on stage, no intro, all of that.” “From a performance perspective, it was so important to both of us that we were connected the entire time,” Gaga said. “I’ve had my arms wrapped around Tony Bennett for three years, touring the world. When you’re singing love songs, that’s what you want people to feel,” at which Kimmel hilariously interjected to inquire if she was having an affair with Bennett, a suggestion she rejected immediately. In the interview, she also recalled the moment in which she received the award, saying that her “whole artistic journey flashed before my eyes.” In other news, Gaga and Cooper’s widely acclaimed film, A Star Is Born is returning to theaters for a week with 12 minutes of additional footage.
