Is it even a surprise to see Billie Eilish singing the James Bond theme song — even though she was barely old enough to see the last Bond movie because it was rated PG-13?

Eilish, now 18 years old, now has the claim to fame to record the newest theme song, making it hard to imagine someone better suited for the job. The song “No Time to Die” is named after the film, and brings a very melancholy sound — which, is actually perfect for the breakout star.

Eilish wrote the song with her brother Finneas, and is the first song written by the duo after she swept five top Grammy awards at the 2020 Oscars.

Typical James Bond songs have a sense of danger and excitement, while hinting at action and drama. There’s always a sense of life-and-death.

Eilish’s rendition hits that idea, incorporating slow notes building up to the suspense.
