Katy Perry Scores Oscar Nod For Best Original Song

Katy Perry has been added to the shortlist for this year's Oscars. The pop diva joins an impressive list of fellow nominees this year including the Black Keys, Mumford and Sons, Adele, Karen O and Arcade Fire.

The Academy Award nod comes in the "Best Original Song" category and Perry is in the running for her track "Wide Awake." The track is featured in her documentary Part Of Me.

There are 75 tracks in total that have been shortlisted for the award including blues rockers the Black Keys for their track "Baddest Man Alive." The song was featured in the martial arts/action film The Man With The Iron Fists.

The final nominees will be announced on January 10 ahead of the February 24 event. Seth MacFarlane will handle this year's hosting duties.
