Billie Joe Armstrong Appears In Deleted Scene Of This Is 40

Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong can be seen in the new Judd Apatow film This Is 40, though you won't see him on the big screen, but he does appear in a deleted scene.

The clip finds Armstrong playing himself alongside Paul Rudd as a record label executive in the film, which follows some of the characters who first appeared in Knocked Up. In the scene, Rudd meets with Armstrong to discuss ideas for new music when the Green Day singer begins talking about a commercially disastrous sounding new venture.

"Have you heard of Norwegian death metal?" says Armstrong. "I thought of taking that, and mixing it with Belle and Sebastian. It's the sort of music you can cry to - but also burn a church down at the same time."

Off the screen, Armstrong is currently in rehab, which has put his band's touring endeavors on hold for the time being.
