Lady Gaga Kicks Off North American Tour

Lady Gaga kicked off the North American leg of her Born This Way Ball tour on January 11 in Vancouver, Canada for a two-and-a-half hour aural and visual extravaganza.

According to Rolling Stone magazine, the set was "daunting and impressive, a multi-level, morphing ancient castle. Her costume changes were, as expected, frequent and fabulous. In fact, the evening as a whole was dark and twisted enough to remind attendees that although Gaga is a Top 40 radio dominatrix, she's also a cerebral sh*t disturber . . ."

Despite the good reviews, the Mother Monster was unable to fill the arena. The story is much the same on upcoming U.S. dates where ticket-seller StubHub has reduced ticks to as low as $13 for some seats.

Gaga has previously described her tour as "an Electro-Metal Pop-Opera; the tale of the Beginning, the genesis of the Kingdom of Fame. How we were birthed and how we will die celebrating."
