Green Day Plays Post-Rehab Live Comeback Show At SXSW

Green Day played its first post-Billie Joe Armststrong breakdown set at South by Southwest late last week, appearing at Austin, Texas' Moody Theater.

The band played a two-hour set, which, according to USA Today, saw the group in top form.

"Armstrong sounded sharp and was a bundle of frenetic energy traversing the stage and then pogoing during 'Stop When the Red Lights Flash' from ¡Dos!, part of the band's recent trilogy," the review stated.

The boys closed things up with "Jesus of Suburbia" and "Brutal Love." Other tracks in the lengthy set included "Oh Love," "Welcome to Paradise" and "Brain Stew."

Earlier, the band had appeared at the city's Paramount Cinema where two new Green Day films, Broadway Idiot and Cuatro! were being screened.
