Yoko Ono Posts John Lennon's Blood-Stained Glasses On Twitter

Yoko Ono has raised her voice against gun violence, posting an image of her late husband John Lennon's blood-spattered glasses to Twitter, along with a statistic on the casualties of firearms related deaths.

"Over 1,057,000 people have been killed by guns in the USA since John Lennon was shot and killed on 8 Dec 1980." Lennon was shot while wearing the glasses by Mark Chapman 33 years ago.

Ono previously used the picture as the cover art for her 1981 album, Seasons of Glass, the first she recorded following Lennon's death.

She tweeted the pic to her 3.7 million followers several times with several different messages, including "31,537 people are killed by guns in the USA every year. We are turning this beautiful country into war zone," and "Together, let's bring back America, the green land of peace."
