J-Lo Responds To Reports Claiming She's Replacing Mariah Carey On Idol

Jennifer Lopez, in response to rumblings that she was tapped as a replacement for Mariah Carey on American Idol, was not forthcoming with information.

Speaking with Extra, J-Lo said, "Um, I don't have much to say about that right now." The interviewer, following up the question, asked her if she'd do it next year, to which she replied "I don't know. It's too far off to say right now."

Last week, the Hollywood Reporter wrote that Idol execs were considering swapping the two divas in an attempt to boost sagging ratings.

A rep for the program denied the rumors to FOX: "This is just another ridiculous Idol judge rumor, likely started by talks of Jennifer performing on the finale."

One of the show's producers, Nigel Lythgoe, also denied the report.
