Prince Hoping For Smaller Venues With Next UK Tour

Prince is hoping to perform in some more intimate venues for his upcoming U.K. tour later this year. According to a source close to the Purple One, he is hoping to bring his forthcoming new album to fans in more intimate venues:

"Prince has gone back to basics this year, playing in front of 300 people at the SXSW festival in Texas. He's now on a U.S. tour of small club shows and wants to do something similar in the U.K. later in the year. It's still to be decided if he'll stay at one small venue and play 20 or more gigs or split his time between a few places around the country," the source explained to The Sun.

"Prince has asked his team to find unusual venues his fans wouldn't expect him to play."

The smaller venues would be a change for Prince, whose last U.K. performances came in a 21-night stand at London's O2 arena. That stretch packed in over 500,000 fans in all.
