Carrie Underwood Was Highest Paid American Idol Alum Of 2013

Carrie Underwood is once again the highest earning American Idol star, according to Forbes magazine.

Underwood earned the top spot again after raking in $31 million from June 2012 to June 2013. Her grand total exceeds the annual earnings of last year's judges Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban. She has grossed $83 million throughout the past five years.

Season one winner Kelly Clarkson ranks second with $7 million, followed by 2012 winner Phillip Phillips and 2009 runner-up Adam Lambert, who are tied for third with $5 million apiece. Chris Daughtry takes fourth place with $4 million and Scotty McCreery rounds out the top five with $3 million.

Former Idol winners Taylor Hicks ($2.5 million), Jennifer Hudson ($1 million) and Fantasia ($1.5 million) also make the top ten.
