Christine McVie's Return To Fleetwood Mac Spurs Spike In Album Sales

Christine McVie's return to Fleetwood Mac has spawned a renewed interest in the band's back catalog. According to Billboard, physical sales of the band's records have spiked 33 percent while digital sales have jumped 53 percent since word broke of her reunion with the band.

The singer-keyboardist, who left the band in 1998, will be rejoining the band for a 34-show tour that kicks off in Minneapolis on September 30 and wraps up in Fort Lauderdale on December 19.

The band members (minus McVie) announced her return during an appearance on NBC's Today show last Thursday.

McVie, who wrote some of the band's biggest hits, explained her decision to return to F-Mac, telling People magazine:

"Two years ago I started to really miss playing. I was toying with the idea of playing with some little band or . . . I didn't know what, really. The truth of the matter is the only people I wanted to play with were the people I had played with all my life - these guys - Fleetwood Mac."
