Rascal Flatts Admit That They Lip-Synced ACM Performance

Rascal Flatts have opened up about their performance at the recent ACM Awards admitting that they lip-synced to a pre recorded vocal track. The awards ceremony took place on April 6 and raised questions from some critics including USA Today's Brian Mansfield, who noted that it sounded unnatural.

"Flatts sounded as perfect performing their new single as they've ever sounded on television," Mansfield wrote. "Maybe a little too perfect."

The band later fessed up adding that they lip-synced because Gary LeVox lost his voice:

"After have performed several shows earlier in the week, Gary lost his voice. So, instead of canceling our commitment to the show we made a last minute decision to lip-sync. We've never done it before and we're obviously not very good at it. We look forward to singing live again in the very near future," they wrote via Facebook.
