Katy Perry Sued By Christian Gospel Group Over 'Dark Horse'

Katy Perry is accused of stealing her hit song "Dark Horse" from the Christian act Flame, who say that she ripped off their tune "Joyful Noise," recorded five years earlier.

The group also complains that the pop starlet defiled their music through associations with witchcraft in the music video for "Dark Horse."

"Joyful Noise" was released in 2008, earning the Gospel Music Association Dove Award nomination for the best rap/hip-hop song. The album the cut appeared on, Our World: Redeemed, was honored a Grammy Award nomination for best rock or rap gospel album.

A lawyer for the group says that comparisons of the two songs "percolated" online prompting the group to look into the matter.

Flame are demanding that Perry stop playing the song and award them damages.
