No Doubt To Headline Global Citizen Festival

No Doubt are set to headline this year's free Global Citizen Festival. The show will mark their first live appearance as a band after an extended performing hiatus. No Doubt bassist/co-founder member Tony Kanal told Rolling Stone:

"Global Citizen will be the first show No Doubt has played together in two years."

"It's a great way to get us back on stage. It was such an honor to be asked to play this particular concert. It's unacceptable that over 1 billion people live in extreme poverty, and it's got a pretty eclectic lineup, which reflects the event's true spirit of diversity."

The concert will be co-headlined by Jay Z and Tiesto with additional performances by Carrie Underwood and fun. It is scheduled for September 27 in New York City's Central Park.

Global Poverty Project co-founder Hugh Evans said of this year's lineup:

"The bill truly expresses that Global Citizen is a broad-based, non-partisan movement that crosses cultures and genders. We've always had an amazing diversity of artists each year, and 2014 continues that trend."
