Rod Stewart And Susan Boyle Perform At Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony

Rod Stewart and Susan Boyle were tapped to perform at the upcoming opening ceremony for Glasgow's Commonwealth Games. The event went down at the city's Celtic Park and featured a bevy of entertainment.

Stewart appeared on the stage to perform his 1991 single "Rhythm of the Heart," and was followed by Boyle, who sang "Mull of Kintyre."

Other performers were featured over the PA - including the Proclaimers ("I'm Gonna Be"), Calvin Harris ("Feel So Close"), AC/DC ("Back in Black") and Lorde ("Royals") - while various activities went on.

Rod made a second appearance later in the night to perform a new track, "Can't Stop Me Now," just before the Queen announced that the games would commence.

The Commonwealth Games is an international, multi-sport event involving athletes from the Commonwealth of Nations, a group of former territories of the British Empire.
