Tom Petty Scores First Number One Album In 38-Year Career

Tom Petty has notched the first number one album in his 38-year career, selling 131,000 copies of Hypnotic Eye in its first week on the charts. Eye is Petty's 16th album, and his best performing since 1994's Wildflowers.

Wildflowers moved 125,000 units in its first week.

Petty is backing his latest album with an extensive 30-date tour that next visits San Francisco's Outside Lands Music Festival on August 9.
