Styx drummer Todd Sucherman has been slapped with a lawsuit for allegedly hitting a fan with a drum stick thrown offstage. The fan claims to have been struck by the stick after Sucherman “negligently threw a drumstick into the audience” during a 2015 concert in Georgia. In the suit, the audience member has charged Sucherman with not giving “timely and proper warning to allow [the fan] to fully protect herself from injury.” In addition to the drummer, the suit also named TBD Productions whom they claim has “owned, operated or managed the band STYX in its musical performances.” Sucherman became the drummer for Styx in 1996 after their previous drummer became too ill to appear on tour. Last year, their bassist Ricky Phillips said that the band is going to have to take a step back and perhaps take a break before they release new music. “We’ve been writing and recording stuff for years, really,” he tells Ultimate Classic Rock. “But I have not heard a peep about anything for months now. I think here’s what’s going to happen: We’re going to have to have some time, we’re going to have to get off the road.” Copyright(c) 2017 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
