News of the accident comes via the girl’s grandfather, who confirmed that she is in dire condition after an ATV flipped and pinned her underwater for several minutes. The girl, named Maddie, is the daughter of Britney’s sister Jamie Lynn Spears and their father spoke on the accident noting: “All I can say is pray for our baby Maddie,” Spears’ father, Jamie Spears, told Entertainment Tonight. There may be some confusion surrounding the incident, however, as a rep from the family told people.com that “the details the media are reporting surrounding the incident regarding Jamie Lynn’s daughter Maddie are incorrect.” “Right now the Spears family asks that everyone respect their privacy during this time and appreciates all the prayers and support for their family,” the rep added.
