Green Day invited a disabled fan up on stage with them to play guitar while they were performing at London’s O2 Arena as part of their U.K. and Ireland 2017 tour. During a performance of “Knowledge,” frontman Billie Joe Armstrong spotted a disabled fan near the front of the crowd named Rachel and proceeded to invite her onto the stage to play with the band. Not only did Rachel play, but at the end of the performance, Armstrong gifted her his guitar. “Rachel, you can keep the guitar. You can have the guitar,” stated Armstrong to the cheers of the crowd. Green Day’s London gig followed dates in Leeds and Manchester. They return to the U.K. this summer for a handful of gigs, including a massive Hyde Park show in July 1. While across the pond they will also perform in Belfast, Ireland at Ormeau Park on June 28, Dublin at the Royal Hospital Kilmainham on June 29 and Glasgow, Scotland at Bellahouston Park on July 4.
