Diana Ross closed out the American Music Awards by accepting the Lifetime Achievement Award following a stirring medley of some of her most beloved songs. A montage of some of her career highlights welcomed Ross to the stage, including her performance at Super Bowl XXX, performing “Endless Love” with Lionel Richie at the 1982 Academy Awards, and sharing the stage with a young Michael Jackson in the 1980s. Ross opened up her performance with “I’m Coming Out” before launching into “Take Me Higher.” From there, she blasted through “Ease on Down the Road” from The Wiz, “Best Years of My Life,” and “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.” Ross then brought her grandkids up onto the stage with her, followed by all of her family members that were in attendance.
