Mariah Carey will be given a chance to redeem herself following last year’s disastrous New Year’s Eve performance in Time’s Square. The Queen of Christmas has once again been lined up to ring in the new year during Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. Carey’s appearance was announced in a joint statement from the singer’s camp and Dick Clark Productions. The statement reads: “We can all agree that last year didn’t go exactly as planned and we are thrilled to move forward together to provide America with an incredible night of music and celebration on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2018. See you in Times Square!” Carey’s performance a year ago was plagued by sound problems, beginning with a malfunctioning ear-monitor. Carey was unable to hear the backing music and the technical difficulties continued from there. Carey’s team and Dick Clark Productions then traded barbs in the media following the embarrassing performance. This year, Carey joins a lineup of performers that includes Camila Cabello, Nick Jonas, Sugarland and Britney Spears. The event will be hosted by Ryan Seacrest. Copyright(c) 2017 RTTNews.com.
