Bruno Mars and producer Mark Ronson have been hit with another lawsuit over their hit song “Uptown Funk.” TMZ reports that the latest bought of litigation stems from the rap trio The Sequence, who claim the song has “significant and substantially similar compositional elements” to their track “Funk You Up.” The track was released in 1979 and was a Top 10 hit. The Sequence is seeking an unspecified amount of monetary damages from the pair and is pushing for a jury trial. Mars and Ronson have previously faced legal challenges from Zapp and Collage over “Uptown Funk.” They also previously settled a case with the Gap Band, admitting that the song sounds similar to their track “Oops Upside Your Head.” Copyright(c) 2018 RTTNews.com.
