John Oates shared his new video for the single “Arkansas” earlier this week. The tune is pulled from Oates’ album of the same name which finds the blue eyed soul star dabbling in various forms of roots and Americana music. Speaking of the new album, he noted: “I was invited to go to Wilson, Arkansas,” Oates revealed to Rolling Stone “and was inspired by the landscape where the cotton fields line the Mississippi River shore. My entire musical life has been influenced by the music that has flowed up that river from New Orleans through the Delta, and has had such an important sonic and cultural impact on America. It occurred to me that Arkansas was the last rural stop on the musical journey northward. I wanted both the song and video to reflect that.” “Arkansas” serves at the title track to Oates’ upcoming fifth solo album, which is set to drop on February 2. Copyright(c) 2018 RTTNews.com.
