The Eagles have settled a lawsuit with Mexican hotel, Hotel California Baja LLC, leading to a withdrawal of their application for a U.S. trademark, according to Reuters. The decision to dismiss the suit was mutual. In the lawsuit, the band alleged that the company was attempting to mislead hotel patrons into thinking that they had sanctioned the use of the song title by playing the Eagles’ music around its property. They also claimed that it was part of a campaign for the hotel to sell merchandise such as T-shirts and posters that were branded “Hotel California.” The hotel denied any wrongdoing on their part, adding that their customers would not be misled. The hotel had been called Hotel California when it opened in 1950, Reuters reports. Copyright(c) 2018 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
