Kenny Loggins has been tapped as this year’s recipient of the Icon Award at the upcoming Guild of Music Supervisors Awards. The event is set to take place on February 8 at the Ace Hotel in Los Angeles and the Guild says that Loggins has made an indelible mark on the genre of feature motion picture theme songs. “‘Caddyshack,’ ‘Footloose,’ ‘Top Gun.’ It was the Kenny Loggins songs that sealed the deal on those movies becoming part of our collective experience of the 1980s. You remember the first time you saw those films and how you felt when the credits rolled. We are so thrilled to have Kenny Loggins accept our inaugural year in celebrating the great Icons of music in media,” said Thomas Golubic, President of the Guild of Music Supervisors. The Guild of Music Supervisors Awards is heading into its eighth year. This year it is celebrating the addition of a music supervision category to the Emmy Awards in 2017. It features nominees in 18 categories, representing movies, television, games and trailers. Copyright(c) 2018 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
