Elton John’s Oscar-viewing party raised nearly $6 million on Sunday night, as a host of A-list celebrities converged to raise funds for his AIDS Foundation. Held in West Hollywood Park, the party was attended by the likes of Ricky Martin, George Hamilton, Jennifer Garner, Miley Cyrus, and Liam Hemsworth, among others. Attendees texted in their pledges as the event was telecasted live on multiple screens within the room. “I always say to Elton when we leave and walk out the front door of our house to go and do the event, ‘We should be break dancing down the driveway,'” said David Furnish, the foundation’s chairman, and John’s husband. “The fact that we’re still able to do this after 26 years and get the support that we get.
