There is so much in this world that is amazing and worthwhile.  There is a huge variety of opportunities to learn and experience.  And traveling the world has never been easier.

As much as you want your family to enjoy all these things, there’s probably one big thing that stands in your way: School. It’s kind of ironic that you have to forego amazing educational and enriching experiences because of… school.

The Thygerson family found a way to have their cake and eat it too.  They deep dive into amazing hobbies, travel the world and still get an awesome formal education.

Watch their story below:

Technology

The Thygersons have embraced technology more than most families.  They’re active participants in robotics leagues which is a great way to apply learning to a real-life situation.   The children learn and apply math, engineering, organization, public speaking, and leadership.  It’s a pretty comprehensive education in its own right.

Family Travel

In high achieving families, travel is almost always one of the top priorities.  This is the same for the Thygerson family.  The My Tech High program allows them to work on their coursework from anywhere.  Including, recently, India.

Family travel trips do a few things for a child.  It gives them confidence and really opens their eyes to a larger world.  Travel also helps them to understand where they came from.  And puts their experience into a larger context.  That’s an amazing gift to give a child.

Entrepreneurship

It must be the dream of every parent to raise solution oriented children.  The My Tech High program helps achieve this through a focus on entrepreneurship.

The point of an entrepreneurship education is not so your child can strike it rich before they leave home.  That’s not going to happen.  The point is to look for opportunities to solve problems.

This takes a lot of effort, and like anything else you get better as you practice.  It’s great training for their future as adults.
