When Lorde took the stage in Kayne West’s hometown of Chicago earlier this week, she paid tribute with a pair of covers, “Love Lockdown” and “Runaway.” Starting with an a cappella version of “Love Lockdown” halfway through her 18-song set, Lorde peeled off a little snippet of “Runaway,” which she mashed up with her ballad “Liability.” “It must be nice to come from the same place as Kanye West,” the singer told the crowd, according to one fan’s tweet. While Lorde has mostly been covering Frank Ocean’s “Solo” at each tour stop, she has been paying homage to other singers in their hometowns that she performs in. She sang Prince’s “I Would Die 4 U” in Minneapolis, and in Nebraska, she played a Bruce Springsteen cover, combining “I’m On Fire” with her track “400 Lux.” Copyright(c) 2018 RTTNews.com.
