Paul McCartney is set to reissue four of his albums, including two recent releases, on CD and Vinyl through MPL/Capitol, on May 18. The records to be released in single CD digipack and 180 gram black vinyl single LP formats are NEW, Chaos And Creation In The Background, Wings Greatest and Thrillington. A limited edition 180 gram color vinyl pressing will also be on sale. Sir Paul’s 2013 release NEW, lauded as “energized and full of joyous rock & roll invention” by Rolling Stone, entered the U.S. chart at #3. Chaos And Creation In The Background debuted at #6 on the Billboard chart and remained on the chart for nearly six months. Wings Greatest, released in 1978, was a worldwide hit. In Thrillington, recorded in 1971 but released much later in 1977, Paul used the pseudonym Percy “Thrills” Thrillington and created a backstory in the liner notes about a U.K. socialite who was friends with him.
