Heart’s Ann Wilson and Alice in Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell delivered a touching tribute to former Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Saturday. Wilson and Cantrell performed a rendition of Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun,” the band’s breakout hit from their 1994 album Superunknown. Without a backing band, Cantrell, dressed all in black, played electric guitar while Wilson handled most of the vocals. Cornell inducted Heart into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame back in 2013, saying during his speech that he considered giving up music until he saw one of the Wilson sisters coming out of a recording studio, which inspired him to keep going. Cornell died from suicide last year at age 52. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony was taped and will premiere on HBO on May 5 with limited editing. Copyright(c) 2018 RTTNews.com.
