Shania Twain says that Lyme disease, which she is currently battling, is an ‘evil, silent thing.’ She revealed the diagnosis back in July. “Lyme disease does affect your life for sure,” Twain told E! News. “It’s such an evil silent thing.” The disease led to dysphonia, which left her unable to sing and forced her to undergo extensive speech therapy and training. “It’s more work for me now vocally because of the effect on the nerves in my larynges,” Twain explained, “so it’s like an hour and a half of physical exercise.” Twain said that she makes sure to always get a workout in no matter where she is, revealing that she has a mini-trampoline with her at all times. “I’ve gotta do a real pre-show show,” Twain said.
