Bruce Springsteen and R.E.M.’s Michael Stipe joined Patti Smith at the world premiere of her new concert film, Horses: Patti Smith and Her Band in New York City on Monday. Springsteen and Stipe joined Smith for a surprise mini-concert at the Beacon Theater, following the screening. Smith and Springsteen performed “Because the Night,” a song they both recorded in 1978. Stipe then joined them for Smith’s 1988 anthem “People Have the Power.” Horses: Patti Smith and Her Band chronicles two Los Angeles dates of Patti’s tour where the punk-rock poet played her landmark 1975 debut in full. The concert film, which was shot over two nights in January 2016 at the Wiltern in Los Angeles, will be available on Apple Music from May 22. Copyright(c) 2018 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
