Carrie Underwood has released a new single, “Cry Pretty,” her first new music since she suffered a fall at her Nashville home that resulted in wrist surgery and 40 stitches in her face. She co-wrote the track with Hillary Lindsey, Liz Rose and Lori McKenna. “I’m sorry, but I’m just a girl/ Not usually the kind to show my heart to the world/ I’m pretty good at keeping it together/ I hold my composure, for worse or for better,” Underwood sings. “You can’t pretty lie and says it’s okay/ You can’t pretty smile, and just walk/ Pretty much make your way through anything/ But you can’t cry… pretty.” “The title refers to when emotions take over and you just can’t hold them back,” Underwood wrote. “It really speaks to a lot of things that have happened in the past year and I hope when you hear it, you can relate those feelings to those times in your life. It’s emotional. It’s real. And it ROCKS!” Underwood will fully return to the public eye when she performs the new track at the ACM Awards on April 15. Copyright(c) 2018 RTTNews.com.
