Jon Bon Jovi wrote an excuse note for the three members of Contagious, a band that opened for them at their recent show at the American Airline Arena in Dallas. All three members of the band are sophomores in high school. The note, shared to the Contagious Facebook page, points out that they “were busy being my opening act (and kicking butt!)” while absent from school. Bon Jovi frequently holds contests to select his openers, saying “Every great band starts small and builds their rep one show at a time. That’s the opportunity we were given and now we want to pay it forward. If you’re ready for the arena stage, submit your audition tapes and join us in playing for the best audiences in rock music.” The Contaigous are based out of Montgomery, Texas and are made up of Mac Johnson on guitar and vocals, Cayden Diebold on bass and Jake Douglas on drums, who are “all sophomore honors, AP students making straight A’s” according to their bio.
