Rita Ross, the sister of music icon Diana Ross, is running for political office. She announced her candidacy for state representative for Michigan’s 5th district back in January. Diana Ross has made mention of her sister’s run for office on social media. Last week she posted a photo of one of Rita’s campaign fliers, which she captioned: “My sister A really dedicated Detroiter.” She also shared the news of her sister’s candidacy back in February, with a Twitter post that read: “My sister Rita Ross is running for State Representative of the 5th District in Detroit, this is her calling .Please support!” Primaries in Detroit will be held on August 7.
