Paul McCartney and late night show host James Corden showed up at several Beatles sites in Liverpool, England over the weekend, leading fans to speculate that they were filming an installment of “Carpool Karaoke.” McCartney and Corden were spotted at the Beatles statue in Liverpool, McCartney’s childhood home at 20 Forthlin Road and on Penny Lane at the roundabout mentioned in the Beatles song. While in Liverpool, McCartney also made a stop at the Philharmonic Dining Rooms, where he played a set with members of his band. The Liverpool Echo reported that tickets were being offered to locals for a “secret gig” with a global superstar. The BeatlesInLondon blog reported that “Love Me Do,” “I Wanna Be Your Man,” “Back in the USSR,” “Birthday,” “I’ve Got a Feeling” and “Hey Jude” were amongst the songs McCarthy performed during the secret gig.
