Miley Cyrus is helping to raise funds for migrant children who have been separated from their families, with a fundraiser for KIND (Kids in Need of Defense) on Facebook allowing Pages (public figures and businesses) to lead campaigns directly. “Miley Cyrus continues to be a leader in using innovative technology for social good. To launch her Happy Hippie Foundation in 2015, she partnered with Facebook to debut ‘Happy Hippie Presents: Backyard Sessions,’ a set of music videos featuring Facebook’s ‘Donate’ button, to raise funds to support transgender youth,” a rep for Cyrus said in a statement. “Now, with this newest fundraiser dedicated to help migrant families, she is introducing the latest updates to Facebook’s social good tools that will continue to engage her fans in support of pressing social justice issues.” Facebook’s Pages update is one of two new fundraising features; the other prompts users to establish recurring monthly contributions to nonprofits when using the “Donate” button.
