Paul Simon performed “Bridge Over Troubled Water” at the DTE Energy Music Theatre, for the first time since he began his Homeward Bound: The Farewell Tour No Longer in Vancouver nearly a month ago. After receiving a standing ovation for his rendition, Simon said “maybe I’ll sing it again sometime.” The tour heads to Europe by the end of this month, after playing in North America, before returning to the U.S. in September for three shows in New York. Simon said, “I don’t know what (farewell) means…One thing will end and another will come. That’s the way it was meant to be.” He even sang, “I am leaving, I am leaving. But the fighter still remains.” The 76-year old singer also belted out “American Tune” and “The Sound of Silence” during the 26-song show in Detroit. Copyright(c) 2018 RTTNews.com.
