Kelly Clarkson has been announced as the headlining act for the opening ceremony for the 50th annual U.S. Open. USTA Chairman of the Board and President Katrina Adams commented on Clarkson’s upcoming performance, saying, “We are honored to have such a talented performer join us in this very special year. Kelly Clarkson’s musical versatility, her unparalleled presence and of course her voice, will make this a night to remember.” Taking place just outside New York City at Arthur Ashe Stadium, the special August 27 performance will kick off the 50th anniversary of the two-week tennis event. Clarkson can also be seen as a judge on this upcoming season of The Voice on NBC.
