Bruce Springsteen has released his legendary 1978 set at the Roxy. The entire set, which clocks in at a whopping four hours, is newly mixed and remastered and is available through his ongoing archival live series. The 40th anniversary of the live set was July 7. After selling out the Los Angeles Forum days earlier, only 500 lucky fans were present for the intimate Roxy set. Highlights of the classic performance include live debuts of “Point Blank” and “Independence Day” on piano, covers of Buddy Holly’s “Rave On” and Elvis Presley’s “Heartbreak Hotel,” and the complete version of “Backstreets” containing the “Sad Eyes” interlude. Seven songs from the show were previously released on Springsteen’s Live 1975-1985 collection. It can be purchased at Springsteen’s official website. Copyright(c) 2018 RTTNews.com.
