John Lennon will appear on a new commemorative stamp later this year, becoming the latest in a series of Music Icons stamps. The new postage will launch on September 7 in New York City at the John Lennon Forever stamp dedication ceremony, which will be officiated by Postmaster General and CEO Megan J. Brennan. The new stamp artwork features a 1974 photo of Lennon taken by rock music photographer Bob Gruen for Lennon’s Walls and Bridges album. The stamp pane resembles a vintage 45-rpm record sleeve and features Lennon at his white piano on the reverse side. The photograph, taken by Peter Fordham, was used to promote Lennon’s landmark 1971 solo album, Imagine. The stamp dedication ceremony will take place at the Namburg Bandshell in Central Park, near East 72nd Street and Fifth Avenue. Copyright(c) 2018 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
