Mick Fleetwood has opened up about Lindsay Buckingham’s departure from Fleetwood Mac in an interview with Billboard. Fleetwood said Buckingham was fired from the band earlier this year because other members were unhappy with the situation it found itself in, and that members were excited about moving forward with a new lineup. While leaving, Buckingham accused his former bandmates of having “lost perspective.” Fleetwood said Buckingham will be replaced on tour by guitarist Mike Campbell and Crowded House frontman Neil Finn, whom he described as “really credible gentleman and really talented.” Fleetwood revealed that the band is planning an “18 months on-and-off of trekking around the world.” “We are a week into rehearsals and it’s going really well, and we’re looking forward, in true Fleetwood Mac style,” Fleetwood said about his preparation with the new team for the North American tour, which kicks off on October 3 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
