The story of disco band Sister Sledge is headed to the big screen. The news was disclosed by band leader Kim Sledge to Variety. The biographical feature film, Life Song, is based on the lives of Kim Sledge, Debbie, Joni and Kathy, the four legendary sisters from Philadelphia that make up the band. The thread of the biopic is the soon-to-be-published memoir of Kim Sledge, who formed the band in 1971. Lou Weisbach, CEO of Merch Time, is producing the movie. The Philadelphia sisters found worldwide success with their 1979 mega-hit “We Are Family.” Sister Sledge had performed for Pope Francis in Philadelphia, for Muhammed Ali in Africa, and for President Bill Clinton at the White House. The band’s size has now reduced to three with the death of Joni in 2017. Copyright(c) 2018 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
