Carrie Underwood has released a new track, “Love Wins,” which is taken off of her forthcoming new album, Cry Pretty. The track was co-written by Underwood, David Garcia and Brett James. “I feel like we get really caught up in surface things, and I feel like, in this world, we’re quick to get angry at each other,” Underwood tells Taste of Country of “Love Wins.” “I personally think that we’re all different for a reason. I feel like if you just sit down and talk to somebody who’s not like you and keep it calm, we can all learn from each other.” In “Love Wins,” Underwood sings, “Politics and prejudice / How the hell’d it ever come to this? / Everybody’s gotta pick a side / It don’t matter if you’re wrong or right … But I hold on to hope, and I won’t let go / ‘Cause I believe you and me are sisters and brothers / And I believe we’re made to be here for each other … I believe, in the end, love wins.” Cry Pretty will be released on September 14.
