The University of Minnesota has posthumously awarded Prince with an honorary degree. Prince was honored in “recognition of his remarkable talent, enduring influence in music and his role in shaping the city of Minneapolis,” the University’s website says. University President Eric Kaler and Regent Darrin Rosha presented the Doctorate of Humane Letters to the late rock star’s sister, Tyka Nelson. At a ceremony held at the Tedd Mann Concert Hall in the university’s School of Music on Wednesday, St. Paul Peterson and Cameron Kinghorn paid tribute to the late musician by performing music linked to his career. Students of the School of Music also performed on the occasion. Copyright(c) 2018 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
