The Prince Estate has issued a letter demanding that US President Donald Trump to stop playing “Purple Rain” at his political rallies. “The Prince Estate has never given permission to President Trump or the White House to use Prince’s songs and have requested that they cease all use immediately,” Prince’s half-brother Omarr Baker tweeted. Trump has been using Prince’s “Purple Rain” at his pre-election day rallies, including at the one held in Mississippi last week. Meanwhile, it is not clear if the estate has formally filed a cease and desist in court. Several other artists and band have asked Trump to stop using their music for election rallies and other political programs, including Neil Young, Steven Tyler, R.E.M., Adele, the Rolling Stones and Queen.
