Bruce Springsteen performed with Social Distortion on Sunday at the inaugural Sea.Hear.Now festival in Asbury Park, New Jersey. Before welcoming Springsteen to the stage in front of his home fans, Social Distortion singer Mike Ness told the audience that a singer would join the band to “sing a song or two.” “Do you know who I’m talking about?” he asked the crowd, already chanting a chorus of “Broooooooce.” Springsteen performed three song with group, “Bad Luck,” “Misery Loves Company” and Social Distortion’s punk rock cover of the Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire.” Springsteen and Ness have shared the stage several times before. Ness had joined Springsteen at the Los Angeles Sports Arena at an April show in 2009 for a performance of “Bad Luck” and “The Rising,” and also in Anaheim, California, in December 2012.
