Chaka Khan Picked As Rose Parade Grand Marshal

R&B singer-songwriter Chaka Khan has been selected as grand marshal of the 2019 Rose Parade by Tournament of Roses. The singer will ride in the 130th Rose Parade presented by Honda, themed “The Melody of Life” and join in the pre-game celebration of the 105th Rose Bowl Game. Both are to held on January 1, 2019. Khan, whose music career spans five decades, is known for hits including “I’m Every Woman,” “Ain’t Nobody” and “Through the Fire.” Khan said she was honored by her selection as grand marshal. “I am so excited & blessed to be awarded this wonderful honor! I look forward to bringing in the 2019 New Years with my new @RoseParade family and enjoying the @rosebowlgame festivities on New Years Day,” the Queen of Funk tweeted.
