Michael Jackson’s estate in collaboration with Columbia Live Stage has announced a brand-new musical revolving around the life of the late King of Pop, titled Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough. Named after a track from the star’s 1979 hit album Off The Wall, the musical is scheduled to premiere at the James M. Nederlander Theatre in Chicago on October 29 and will run through December 1 before hitting Broadway in the spring of 2020. “We are endeavouring to tell the story of one moment in the life of a very complicated man whose life was very fraught,” said Lynn Nottage, the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright, who has been tapped to pen the book. Scheduled to be directed by Tony Award-winning choreographer and director Christopher Wheeldon, the musical’s score will consist of a wide variety of the artist’s songs. “We want it to be a portrait of the artist, a man of contradictions that contained so much beauty,” said Wheeldon. “A life like Michael’s was so rich, dense and troubled. But there were these moments of great lightness. We are interested in celebrating Michael, and in breaking down his songs and really listening to them.” Copyright(c) 2019 RTTNews.com.
