Country superstar Tim McGraw will headline the Super Bowl LIII pregame festivities in Atlanta, Georgia, on Sunday, February 3, the NFL announced on Monday. McGraw will perform at the NFL Tailgate Party with his new single “Thought About You” televised live on CBS’s Super Bowl Pregame Show, “The Super Bowl Today.” The NFL said Aloe Blacc will perform at the NFL Tailgate Party earlier in the day and will be joined onstage by Atlanta’s very own David Walker and High Praise for a live televised performance. Maroon 5 will play at halftime of Super Bowl with appearances by Travis Scott and Big Boi, although the performers have faced criticism from fans who have asked to them to support former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick. Kaepernick has essentially been exiled from the NFL because of his decision to kneel during the national anthem in protest of racial inequality in the U.S. Several A-list artists, including Rihanna, Adele, Jay-Z and Cardi B, reportedly rejected invitations to perform at halftime to show their support for Kaepernick.
